About the position

The ESIS Claims Representative position is responsible for managing and maintaining workers' compensation claims within a hybrid work environment, primarily based in Tampa, Florida. This role requires experience in claims investigation and adjusting, particularly in the context of Defense Base Act or Longshore claims. The representative will work under the supervision of a supervisor and as part of the ESIS team, ensuring accurate benefit payments and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and maintain all workers' compensation claims and file reviews under supervision.
  • Determine, calculate, and issue accurate benefit payments to injured workers, medical providers, and vendors in a timely manner.
  • Assist with national coordination of accounts.
  • Work independently while assimilating various technical subjects related to claims management.
  • Remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete multiple objectives effectively.

Requirements

  • Five or more years' experience in handling Federal Workers' Compensation Claims.
  • Experience in managing Defense Base Act or Longshore claims investigation/adjusting.
  • Knowledge of Federal Workers' Compensation Coverage, Compensability, Principles, and Practice.
  • Ability to work independently and assimilate various technical components.
  • Solid computer software skills (M/S Word, Excel).
  • AIC/CPCU certification is preferred.
  • An applicable resident or designated home state adjuster's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a third-party administrator (TPA) environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
