The Riverside Adult School is seeking a dedicated ESL Instructor to join our team for the upcoming academic year, starting August 20, 2024, and concluding on May 28, 2025. This full-time position requires the instructor to teach English as a Second Language to adult learners, focusing on enhancing their language skills for personal, academic, and professional growth. The instructor will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of adult students, many of whom may be balancing education with work and family commitments. The work schedule consists of 32 hours per week, with classes held Monday through Thursday from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as well as Friday mornings from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM. Given the nature of adult education, the instructor must be available to work during afternoon and evening hours to accommodate students' schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching ESL to adults and will be committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the ESL Instructor will be expected to develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and collaborate with other educators to enhance the curriculum. The Riverside Unified School District is committed to providing meaningful access to education and employment services, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed in their language learning journey.
