About the position

Lumos Language School is seeking dedicated ESL teachers for the Winter Semester 2025, which runs from January 6 to April 16, 2025. The role involves teaching academic ESL courses, including listening/speaking, grammar, reading/writing, and TOEFL preparation, in a dynamic classroom environment. Teachers will utilize specialized software for homework assignments and grade tracking, and will participate in training meetings to stay updated on best practices and school policies.

Responsibilities

• Teach academic ESL courses from a prepared syllabus.
• Assign homework using specialized homework software.
• Track grades using learning management software.
• File daily lesson plans electronically for every class taught.
• Attend three training meetings each semester to stay updated on ESL teaching practices and school policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English, education, or a related field.
• TESOL/TEFL certification.
• Minimum three months' teaching ESL or other foreign language teaching experience.

Nice-to-haves

• One year demonstrated experience teaching beginning, intermediate, or advanced academic ESL classes of 12-20 students in person and/or online.
• Experience teaching TOEFL classes and/or advanced grammar.
