About the position

The Substitute Building Based Substitute at Consolidated School District of New Britain plays a crucial role in maintaining educational continuity by assisting with classroom instruction in the absence of regular teachers. This position involves following lesson plans, aiding students in understanding the subject matter, and ensuring that classroom routines are adhered to, thereby fostering a safe and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent with ED 174 on file
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• CT/FBI Criminal History Clearance
• Department of Children and Families Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Record Clearance
• Education Employment Verification - Act 16-67
