About the position

The ESS Substitute Teacher plays a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education by providing instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This position involves following lesson plans, aiding students in understanding the subject matter, and ensuring that classroom routines are adhered to, thereby fostering a safe and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Criminal History Clearance
• Negative Tuberculosis test and NC Health Sheet
• Ability to pass a 10 panel drug screen - Varies by district
