The ESS Substitute Teacher plays a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education by providing instruction in the absence of regular teachers. This position involves following lesson plans, aiding students in understanding the subject matter, and ensuring that classroom routines are adhered to, thereby fostering a safe and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Criminal History Clearance
• Negative Tuberculosis test and NC Health Sheet
• Ability to pass a 10 panel drug screen - Varies by district
