About the position

The Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) Development Program at Saint-Gobain North America is designed for aspiring Electrical/Robotics Engineers who are eager to contribute to the next manufacturing revolution, known as Manufacturing 4.0. This 18-month program offers a unique opportunity to engage with various aspects of manufacturing, providing participants with the tools and experiences necessary to become thought leaders in the industry. Throughout the program, participants will rotate through different plants across North America every three months, gaining hands-on experience and insights into the company's diverse operations, products, and business units. This exposure is complemented by a strong emphasis on mentorship, where each participant is paired with a dedicated mentor who will guide them through their journey, sharing essential knowledge and advice for career development. The program is structured to challenge participants through real-world projects that are critical to the business, pushing them to innovate and rethink traditional manufacturing practices. Participants will also engage in various training sessions focused on lean manufacturing, data analytics, project management, and presentation skills, all aimed at enhancing their technical and business acumen. From day one, the program emphasizes the importance of making a tangible impact, empowering participants to take responsibility for concrete results while gaining invaluable experience in a condensed timeframe. Upon completion of the EOM Program, graduates will have the opportunity to apply for the Essentials Global Experience Program, which allows them to work on international projects with Saint-Gobain businesses worldwide. This program not only prepares participants for dynamic careers in manufacturing but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration among peers, making it an exciting time to be part of the manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an 18-month development program focused on manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain operations.
  • Engage in quarterly rotations at different plants across North America to learn about various business units and operations.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated mentor to navigate through diverse business challenges and career development opportunities.
  • Work on priority projects that challenge existing manufacturing practices and contribute to business goals.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills in lean manufacturing, data analytics, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Contribute to team efforts and collaborate effectively with peers in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • Completed B.S. in an engineering discipline, specifically Electrical or Robotics Engineering.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel, with a valid passport for international travel.
  • Strong desire to learn and step outside of comfort zones.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • No immigration sponsorship is provided.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
