About the position

The Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) Development Program at Saint-Gobain North America is designed to prepare participants for a dynamic career in manufacturing during a pivotal moment in the industry, often referred to as Manufacturing 4.0. This 18-month program offers a unique opportunity to engage with various manufacturing processes and technologies, providing a comprehensive learning experience that combines classroom education with hands-on operational training. Participants will rotate through different plants across North America every three months, allowing them to gain exposure to diverse business units, products, and operations while building camaraderie with fellow cohort members. Throughout the program, participants will work on projects that are critical to the business, challenging their skills and encouraging innovative thinking. They will receive mentorship from experienced professionals who will guide them through the complexities of the manufacturing environment, helping them to develop both technical and business acumen. The program emphasizes the importance of making a tangible impact from day one, empowering participants to take on responsibilities that yield concrete results. Upon completion of the EOM Program, graduates will have the opportunity to apply for the Essentials Global Experience Program, which allows them to work on international projects with Saint-Gobain businesses worldwide. This global exposure is complemented by a strong focus on personal and professional development, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to become thought leaders in the manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an 18-month development program focused on manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain operations.
  • Rotate through different plants every three months to learn about various business units and products.
  • Work on priority projects that challenge existing manufacturing practices and contribute to business goals.
  • Engage in training sessions to enhance technical skills in lean manufacturing, data analytics, project management, and more.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated mentor to navigate the complexities of the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Completed B.S. in an engineering discipline, preferably Chemical Engineering.
  • Desire to relocate and travel, with valid passport required for international travel.
  • Willingness to learn and step outside of comfort zones.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering internships.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
