About the position

The Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) Development Program at Saint-Gobain North America is designed to prepare participants for a dynamic career in manufacturing during a pivotal moment in the industry's evolution towards Manufacturing 4.0. This 18-month program offers a unique opportunity to engage with various aspects of manufacturing, providing both theoretical and practical experiences that will shape participants into future thought leaders in the field. Throughout the program, participants will be exposed to different plants across North America, allowing them to learn about the company's diverse businesses, products, and operations while building camaraderie with their cohort. Participants will work closely with a dedicated mentor who will guide them through the complexities of large and diverse business units, sharing essential knowledge and advice for career development. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, with participants tackling priority projects that challenge traditional manufacturing methods. Training sessions will cover a range of topics, including lean manufacturing practices, data analytics, business acumen, project management, and presentation skills, all aimed at enhancing technical and business competencies. From the very first day, the program focuses on making a tangible impact, empowering participants with responsibilities that yield concrete results. Upon completion of the EOM Program, graduates will have the opportunity to apply for the Essentials Global Experience Program, which allows them to work on international projects with Saint-Gobain businesses worldwide. This program not only fosters professional growth but also encourages participants to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an 18-month development program focused on manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain operations.
  • Engage in hands-on action-based learning in operational environments.
  • Complete classroom-based E-learnings and various training sessions.
  • Work on priority projects that challenge existing manufacturing practices.
  • Travel to different plants every three months to learn about various business operations and build camaraderie with peers.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated mentor for guidance and career development.

Requirements

  • Completed B.S. in an engineering discipline, preferably Industrial Engineering.
  • Desire to relocate and travel, with a valid passport required for international travel.
  • Willingness to learn and step outside of comfort zones.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • No immigration sponsorship provided.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience or internships in manufacturing or engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of data analytics and project management.
