About the position

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Probate Paralegal to join their legal team. As a Probate Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting the attorneys with all aspects of probate law. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the legal field and has a keen interest in probate matters. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in probate law and possess an ABA paralegal certificate and/or a degree in paralegal studies, which is strongly preferred. You will be responsible for drafting discovery requests and responses, notices of continuances, and motions to compel, as well as filing documents with the court and maintaining client contact. A strong knowledge of probate laws, procedures, and court rules is essential, along with proficiency in legal research and case management software.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting attorneys in preparing and filing probate documents, including petitions, inventories, accountings, and other necessary forms
  • Conducting legal research on probate laws, court rules, and case precedents
  • Gathering and organizing client information, including assets, debts, and beneficiaries
  • Communicating with clients, court personnel, and other attorneys regarding case updates and requirements
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings, hearings, and court appearances for attorneys and clients
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files and records
  • Providing administrative support to attorneys, such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars
  • Assisting with the preparation of estate plans, wills, trusts, and other related legal documents

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in probate law
  • ABA paralegal certificate and/or degree in paralegal studies strongly preferred
  • Ability to draft discovery requests and responses, notices of continuances, drafting motions to compel and document requests
  • Strong knowledge of probate laws, procedures, and court rules
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software
