About the position

The Estate Planning Paralegal position at our Orange County Estate Planning firm is a permanent role that requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in estate planning. The firm services multiple areas and is committed to providing exceptional legal support to clients in matters related to estate planning, wills, trusts, and other related legal documents. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in the estate planning field, and will be responsible for assisting attorneys in the preparation and management of estate planning documents and processes. In this role, you will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of estate planning concepts, including wills, trusts, ancillary documents, probates, trust administrations, and conservatorships. You will be tasked with managing multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring that all details are meticulously handled and deadlines are met. Your exceptional attention to detail will be crucial in drafting and reviewing legal documents, as well as in conducting thorough research to support case preparation. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with clients and other stakeholders, providing updates and clarifications as needed. You will also be responsible for gathering and analyzing information, which requires strong research skills and proficiency in legal software and standard office applications, such as Microsoft Office. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred, but the emphasis will be on your practical experience and ability to contribute to the firm's success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing estate planning documents including wills and trusts.
  • Manage multiple estate planning cases simultaneously, ensuring all details are accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Conduct thorough research to support case preparation and document drafting.
  • Liaise effectively with clients and other stakeholders, providing updates and clarifications as needed.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to estate planning, probates, and trust administrations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of estate planning, wills, trusts, ancillary documents, probates, trust administrations, and conservatorships.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to gather and analyze information effectively.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and standard office software, such as Microsoft Office.
  • A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
