About the position

The Estimating Manager will lead a small team in preparing accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects, ensuring competitive budgets and compliance with contractual requirements. This role involves utilizing advanced estimating software and collaborating with various teams to support project success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training and guidance on the use of InEight software and its integration into daily estimating practices.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the estimating team to ensure high performance and accuracy in all estimating activities.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates from conceptual through construction phases.
  • Review and finalize estimates prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure all estimates are prepared using the InEight platform, following standard operating procedures and aligning with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with project management and business development teams to develop strategies for winning bids.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is incorporated into estimates.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in estimating technology and techniques, ensuring the department remains at the forefront of industry practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction estimating, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, techniques, and software.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating tools and software, such as Bluebeam, Ineight, PlanSwift, or RSMeans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, with the capacity to manage a team of estimators effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating processes.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial construction projects and knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
