About the position

The Estimating Engineer at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient estimating process for construction projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, analyzing project documentation, and preparing accurate cost estimates to meet client expectations. The Estimating Engineer will also manage subcontractor relationships and ensure quality control throughout the estimating process.

Responsibilities

• Estimate project costs by performing quantity take-offs and managing subcontractor contacts.
• Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
• Build relationships to understand client, designer, and subcontractor needs.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates.
• Facilitate collaboration among team members and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor.
• Understand the full scope of the project through document review and inquiries.
• Prepare qualifications and assumptions for estimates.
• Prepare cost comparisons and reconcile with previous estimates.
• Manage the subcontractor solicitation and selection process.
• Prepare scope sheets and ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
• Prepare an in-house budget and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Understanding of building plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of safety standards and enforcement, OSHA 30 required.
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills and the ability to set goals.
