About The Position

The Estimation Lead at AECOM plays a crucial role in overseeing the development of accurate cost estimates for various project phases within the transportation sector. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this leadership position involves supervising a team of estimators, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets, and refining estimation processes to adhere to industry best practices. The Estimation Lead will also provide strategic input for program delivery and support the creation of essential business plans and reports.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience/education, including 2 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Science/Management, or a relevant discipline.
• 15+ years of estimating experience, with 10+ years in civil construction.
• Knowledge of design and civil construction disciplines, methodologies, and best practices, particularly in transit infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and cost management software.

• Ability to develop internal and external resources for accurate cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Develop all capital cost estimates from planning conceptual level to final design and construction cost estimates.
• Facilitate the development of information used to create cost estimates with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the development of bi-annual Programmatic Business Plan capital cost estimates, Program Baselines, and Project Update Reports.
• Review Contractor estimates and claims.
• Develop policies and procedures for programmatic cost estimating.
