About the position

MC² is seeking an Estimator to join our dynamic team, responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of cost and pricing estimates for various projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all estimates align with the project requirements and scope. The Estimator will calculate production costs by applying labor and materials pricing schedules, as well as utilizing historical data to determine component pricing. This includes requesting and evaluating bids from vendors for materials and supplies, applying appropriate mark-ups to direct costs, and establishing minimum pricing while maintaining acceptable cost margins. The Estimator must ensure that all estimates are accurate and compliant with the design and scope of the projects. In addition to the essential functions, the Estimator may assist in other areas of project development and completion as needed. This position requires a strong understanding of production costing, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience in materials purchasing and value engineering. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with good math and accounting abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications is also necessary. The role may require overtime and travel as needed, reflecting the fast-paced and demanding environment of the event and trade show industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate cost/pricing estimates for projects as requested.
  • Calculate production costs using labor and materials pricing schedules and historical data.
  • Request and evaluate bids from vendors for materials and supplies.
  • Apply mark-ups to direct costs to determine minimum pricing.
  • Calculate labor and materials costs and establish minimum pricing with respect to acceptable cost margins.
  • Ensure estimates are accurate and compliant with design and scope requirements.
  • Assist in other areas of project development and completion as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in production costing.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in materials purchasing and value engineering.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Good math and accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
