About the position

MC² is an international leader in the exhibit and live event marketing industry, known for designing and building beautiful exhibit and environmental spaces. We innovate the technology within these spaces, creating dynamic environments where people interact face-to-face with the world's best brands. We have a rare opening for an Estimator to join our amazing group. This position is crucial as the Estimator is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of cost and pricing estimates for various projects as requested and outlined. The role also involves preparing incremental pricing estimates for changes and additions that may occur throughout the project cycle. The Estimator will calculate production costs by applying labor and materials pricing schedules, as well as utilizing historic data to determine component pricing. This includes requesting and evaluating bids from vendors for materials and supplies, applying mark-ups to direct costs to establish minimum pricing, and ensuring that all estimates are accurate and compliant with the design and scope of the project. The position may also involve assisting in other areas of project development and completion as needed. To succeed in this role, the Estimator must possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with good math and accounting abilities. Proficiency in PC skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite and web applications, is essential. The Estimator will need to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate cost/pricing estimates for projects as requested.
  • Calculate production costs using labor and materials pricing schedules and historic data.
  • Request and evaluate bids from vendors for materials and supplies.
  • Apply mark-ups to direct costs to determine minimum pricing.
  • Calculate labor and materials costs and establish minimum pricing with respect to acceptable cost margins.
  • Ensure estimates are accurate and compliant with design and scope requirements.
  • Assist in other areas of project development and completion as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in production costing.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in materials purchasing and value engineering.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Good math and accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
