About the position

The Estimator position at Sevan Multi-Site Solutions involves preparing cost estimates for government, military housing, and multi-family construction projects. This role is crucial for developing conceptual budgets, ROM estimates, and hard bid proposals, ensuring that projects are accurately priced and aligned with Sevan's contractual requirements. The position is hybrid, based in Dallas, TX, and requires collaboration with various teams to manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete subcontractor scope of works and bid packages.
• Create project Invitation to Bid for subcontractors on Building Connected or other bidding platforms.
• Review project documents to create RFI's (Request for Information) for submission to Architect.
• Review project documents to determine risks to Sevan and assist Bid Leader in the creation of the Risk Register.
• Visit project sites and provide Sevan with a detailed site assessment using Sevan's Capture software.
• Manage team in identifying qualified subcontractors and establish and maintain bid solicitation lists.
• Review subcontractor RFI's to determine if they need to be included in the RFI to Architect list or if they can be answered internally.
• Investigate local market conditions and their effect on costs and schedule.
• Provide review of subcontractor quotes to assure they meet the intent of the specific scope of work and are in line with Sevan's contractual requirements.
• Create and estimate sheet breaking down elements of the bid using either MasterFormat or Uniformat divisions.
• Write clear and concise qualifications and exclusions to proposals.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated skills in Preconstruction, Estimating, and Project Management.
• Proven success of estimating in the government construction industry.
• Experience in government, military barracks, or multi-family housing, highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Smartsheet, and Takeoff software (OST or similar), Bluebeam, Excel, etc.
