About the position

As an Estimator with Paladin Technologies, you will be responsible for maximizing the award of profitable contracts by leading estimating and bid administration activities. This role involves close collaboration with the Sales, Design, and Project Management teams to ensure high-quality service delivery to customers. You will engage in various tasks such as responding to RFPs, conducting client meetings, and supporting project teams during installations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost budgets based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant materials.
• Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and PMO to develop cost estimates for labor and logistics and detailed BOM.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute and communicate costs through analysis of labor, material, and time requirements.
• Engage subcontractors to augment Paladin's areas of expertise to provide a complete solution.
• Obtain best product prices from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing networks.
• Coordinate bid proposal development with all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Previous and progressive experience as an Estimator in the low voltage industry with demonstrated success completing complicated estimates/designs involving access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, IP networks, intercom, duress, and/or structured cabling.
• Experience estimating projects worth between $250K-$500K or larger.
• Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mac OS, and project/quoting software.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with Access Control systems such as LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Kantech, Genetec, AMAG, RBH.
• Experience with CCTV systems like Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec.
• Experience with Intrusion systems such as Bosch, DSC, DMP, Senstar, Southwest Microwave.
• Familiarity with Network Switching from Cisco, Ruckus, HPE.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) from Schneider, Omron.
• Experience in a technical sales role or system design would be considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, or equivalent would be considered an asset.
