About the position

The Estimating and Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction and remodeling projects. This position is responsible for assisting with estimating, bidding, scheduling, job processing, and overall project coordination. The Estimator/Project Coordinator will prepare estimates and bids, provide exceptional customer service, distribute materials, conduct installation and service inspections, and coordinate all necessary documentation related to project management and installation. The role requires close collaboration with the Installation Operations Manager to ensure that all project activities are completed to the highest standards and ethical practices of the company. Key responsibilities include reviewing blueprints and project plans to identify bidding and estimating needs for new construction, commercial projects, and remodeling tasks. The Estimator/Project Coordinator will also train team members on the digital measure program for blueprint takeoffs and ensure that accurate lists of materials are ordered, including the correct color, size, and quantity. This information will be entered into the company’s flooring management software as needed. The position also involves maintaining technical knowledge through educational workshops and ongoing training in computer and software applications relevant to the industry. In addition to these tasks, the Estimator/Project Coordinator will work closely with the Installation Operations Manager to coordinate the scheduling of installations, deliveries, and services/repairs. Responding to customer service requests promptly is essential, with a commitment to addressing concerns within 24 hours and scheduling inspections when necessary. The role also includes performing quality control inspections of active installations to ensure compliance with proper procedures and the use of correct materials. Effective communication with customers, builders, and installers is vital to ensure that all parties are prepared for flooring installations, contributing to a seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with estimating, bidding, scheduling, job processing, and overall project coordination.
  • Prepare estimates and bids for new construction, commercial, and remodeling projects.
  • Train and implement digital measure program for blueprint takeoffs.
  • Provide team members with a list of materials that need to be ordered, including color, size, and quantity.
  • Enter material information into company flooring management software as needed.
  • Train and implement the newest digital estimating and mobile technology within company systems.
  • Coordinate scheduling of installations, deliveries, and services/repairs with the Installation Operations Manager.
  • Respond to customer service requests within 24 hours and schedule inspections if necessary.
  • Perform inspections and prepare detailed reports for clients.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of active installations to ensure proper procedures and materials are used.
  • Communicate pre-installation guidelines with customers, builders, and installers prior to installation.

Requirements

  • Experience in estimating and project coordination in the construction or remodeling industry.
  • Proficiency in using flooring management software and digital estimating tools.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints and project plans.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform quality control inspections and prepare detailed reports.
