About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by accurately estimating costs and ensuring that projects remain within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, effective negotiation skills, and proficiency in various estimating software tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Analyze blueprints and other project documents to determine project requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Utilize HeavyBid and Bluebeam software for efficient project estimation and documentation.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for accurate cost assessments.
• Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure cost control.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction / Landscaping estimating or a related field is essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes.
• Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and negotiate contracts.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years of construction estimating experience (Preferred)
• 3 years of bidding process experience (Preferred)
• 4 years of project management experience (Preferred)
• 4 years of takeoffs experience (Preferred)
• 4 years of blueprint reading experience (Preferred)
