About the position

The Estimator position at Redpath USA Corporation involves collaborating with the Estimating Department and other teams to create project estimates, budgets, schedules, and proposal documents. This role is crucial for securing new projects and ensuring the successful execution of ongoing work, all under the supervision of the Chief Estimator.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, designs, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare schedules, cost estimates, and proposal documents.
  • Schedule project activities and modify them following estimate and project reviews.
  • Apply labor, equipment, and material requirements to each estimate under the direction of senior estimating staff.
  • Solicit quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Consult with vendors and specialists to discuss and receive input relevant to the project conditions.
  • Support the development of performance capabilities with detailed cycle time calculations.
  • Adjust theoretical calculations to reflect historical performance.
  • Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain contributions to methodology, cost estimates, and proposal documentation.
  • Utilize the company's estimating software to compile estimates and resource allocation.
  • Utilize spreadsheet, word processing, scheduling, and presentation software.
  • Support the preparation of all tenders in accordance with the 'Redpath Bidding Process'.
  • Work together with the Estimating Staff to meet deliverable requirements of all tender submissions.
  • Prepare backup estimates and store originals & copies as per procedure.
  • Assist and support project management to ensure continuity between tender, construction, and project completion.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education (mathematical and/or scientific)
  • 1-2 years' related experience and/or knowledge of Underground mining operations
  • Proficiency in Primavera, Hard Dollar, MS Office, SharePoint, and other computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mining, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree or relevant equivalent
  • 2-4 years' Underground work experience, practical and engineering.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with competitive salary range of $69.8K - $88.4K per year.
