About the position

Pac-Van, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Finance Corporation, provides storage and office space solutions to its customers through the leasing and selling of storage containers, mobile office trailers, modular buildings, and bulk liquid storage frac tanks. The position is responsible for providing quick and accurate estimates of materials and labor required to modify containers based on customer and/or sales team provided drawings and/or information.

Responsibilities

  • Meet project profitability and cost control targets
  • Provide periodic management reporting
  • Provide design layouts, sketches, and formal quotes
  • Manage projects through purchasing, engineering & production departments
  • Understand and communicate the objectives while also performing key activities related to core processes
  • Effectively instruct shop supervision and any outside vendors or sub-contractors to complete the jobs in a timely manner
  • Communicate on a regular basis with our sister company's Ops Manager, Engineering Manager and Shop supervisor regarding project performance, status, and expectations
  • Consider the proposed usage and application, installation site conditions and constraints, and potential permitting considerations when making recommendations
  • Make suggestions regarding ways to improve proposed designs from both a functionality and cost effectiveness perspective
  • Direct/assist permitting process and vendor management
  • Develop coordinated project plan and schedule
  • Manage & communicate customer expectations
  • Support customer warranty period
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Obtain customer acceptance and project sign off
  • Develop and build loyal, profitable customer relationships
  • Set and manage service standards
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all product lines to able to perform other quotation duties as needed
  • Support sales team with quoting and estimating activities that would involve local branch or third-party production for projects other than home plant
  • Support Safety Manager to ensure all project personnel, vendors and subcontractors follow safety requirements

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of management practices
  • General construction background and knowledge
  • Knowledge in building codes (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, IBC, OSHA)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (or capable of learning at company expense)
  • Knowledge of product technology, product availability and installation techniques and innovations
  • Valid drivers license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Maintenance of continuous personal automobile insurance coverage
