About the position

The Estimator position at Nick Falcone & Sons, Inc. is crucial for driving project success through accurate and timely bid submissions. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to collaborate with team members, clients, subcontractors, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction estimating practices, proficiency in blueprint reading, and advanced math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform earthwork takeoffs using AGTEK and quantity takeoffs through Bluebeam or Adobe.
• Develop and submit bids using Estimating Link software.
• Manage and maintain plan logs, ensuring organization and efficiency.
• Organize, manage, and distribute pricing requests to vendors and subcontractors.
• Prioritize tasks to meet critical bid deadlines.
• Conduct job cost analysis with the project management team for accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain and build strong relationships with clients and follow up on submitted bids.
• Interpret and understand blueprints and project documents.
• Prepare and handle Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
• Utilize scheduling software to plan and track project timelines.

Requirements

• Civil or Construction Management degree preferred.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in construction, specifically in site excavation.
• Proficiency with AGTEK, Estimating Link, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Familiarity with site excavation means and methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Valid state driver's license with reliable transportation.
