About the position

The Estimator position at BELFOR is a critical role within the Estimating track, responsible for creating and managing estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This position requires interaction with clients, particularly insurance adjusters, to develop competitive estimates using Xactimate software, manage project progress, and ensure adherence to budgets. The Estimator will also be involved in maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain local area clientele, primarily insurance adjusters and community business owners.
  • Create accurate floor plans using Xactimate Sketch.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable building codes and ensure compliance.
  • Create and adhere to budgets, addressing any overages as they arise.
  • Use BELFOR naming conventions for estimates, proposals, and change orders.
  • Maintain a construction schedule and coordinate with trades and management for timely project completion.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various restoration techniques including source removal and decontamination.
  • Participate in continued training with BELFOR University for Xactimate certification preparation.
  • Independently manage own work and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Complete accident, injury, and incident reporting forms in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of BELFOR USA Group, Inc as a world-class industry leader.

Requirements

  • Develop and maintain a client book of business based on Estimator level requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for owners, adjusters, and consultants.
  • Scope development and negotiation with customers.
  • Coordinate after-hours emergency services as needed.
  • Identify potential site hazards such as asbestos and mold.
  • Maintain professionalism and responsiveness in communication.
  • Apply industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance.
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
  • Attention to detail and safeguarding of property and information.
  • Attend required operations and safety training courses.
