About the position

The Estimator is responsible for estimating commercial concrete construction projects, managing multiple estimates simultaneously, and maintaining client relationships. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams to ensure project success. The Estimator will utilize take-off software to quantify materials and prepare pricing spreadsheets, while also supporting the Senior Estimator as needed.

Responsibilities

• Estimate commercial concrete construction projects and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Conduct internal preparation meetings upon project award.
• Meet with the Field Operations Team and Safety Department for preliminary planning.
• Communicate with clients throughout the estimating process.
• Develop critical path schedules and discuss sequencing logic.
• Collaborate with form work suppliers for efficiency improvements.
• Discuss rebar and post tension quantities with subcontractors.
• Analyze proposals and scopes of work from clients and subcontractors.
• Lead internal estimate review meetings.
• Prepare client presentation materials including pour plans and 3-D models.
• Price and reconcile drawing changes between sets.
• Brainstorm and ask questions for complex structure construction.
• Solicit input from team members and share lessons learned.
• Attend post-bid interviews as needed.
• Occasionally walk the job site for feedback on future estimates.

Requirements

• Direct experience in commercial concrete construction.
• 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills with all organizational levels, customers, and vendors.
• Highly organized and able to handle large files and confidential data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to visualize 2-D drawings in 3-D and explain methods simply.
• Driven to learn more about the technical aspects of concrete construction.
