Structure Tone is seeking an Estimator to support our Philadelphia office. The Estimator will be responsible for budgeting, bidding, leveling, and awarding a diverse set of projects; continuing to support the project team throughout all phases of construction. The position will require involvement in several projects simultaneously. The Estimator will manage the estimating process on assigned projects totaling $50 - $100M per year, ensuring that all aspects of the estimating process are handled efficiently and effectively. This includes preparing quantity take-offs for various levels of budgeting, with a focus on commercial interior and/or pharmaceutical projects. The role will also involve utilizing Onscreen takeoff, CMiC, and Excel to calculate, record, and track estimates, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all estimations. In addition, the Estimator will engage with a centralized cost estimating database to ensure updated pricing is provided, inclusive of union wage increases, inflation, and other market adjustments. They will compile thorough scopes for subcontractor review during the level bid process and solicit subcontractor bids, ensuring that each project receives 3-5 bids per trade and/or supplier group. The Estimator will complete subcontractor bid reviews and descopes, ensuring conformance to project specifications, code requirements, material quality, project schedule, site logistics, insurance, and related items. They will also identify items that have been omitted and ensure a complete estimate is provided to the client, enabling them to meet their financial objectives. The Estimator will complete the subcontractor purchasing process, ensuring qualified subcontractors are utilized across various project types. They will manage project kickoff and closeout meetings to ensure a smooth transition of information across the estimating, engineering, accounting, and operations teams. Maintaining engagement from the bid phase through project completion for RFIs, change management, ticket pricing, and subcontract execution is crucial. The Estimator will develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and team members alike. They will attend client meetings, engage with and resolve issues regarding pricing and/or estimates, and participate in value engineering exercises as needed, obtaining client approval and signoff. Additionally, the Estimator will participate in team collaboration and development, enhancing the potential growth for both individual team members and the entire estimating department.
