About the position

The Operations Training Specialist at Crysalis is responsible for training and developing plant operators to ensure optimal efficiency and safety within the ethanol production facility. This role involves providing operational support, instructing operators on process monitoring and troubleshooting, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The specialist will also enforce safety protocols, conduct performance audits, and assist in maintaining necessary certifications and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Instruct both new and current operators on comprehensive process monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas.
• Identify and resolve issues with underperforming equipment.
• Draft work orders and perform routine tasks in accordance with SOPs.
• Conduct minor equipment repairs and understand all process components.
• Collaborate in the creation and regular updating of SOPs for all plant tasks.
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Schedule and conduct knowledge assessments to verify operators' understanding of process areas.
• Prepare weekly progress reports to assess trainees' learning and development.
• Conduct regular performance audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and policies.
• Document training protocols and create visual reference guides for each area.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining certifications required for safe work compliance.
• Support the updating of configuration control items.

Requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively.
• Strong analytical and mechanical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Associate degree in Process Technology or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.
