About the position

As an Ethics Investigator, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE), you will play a crucial role in conducting independent investigations into various issues such as employee misconduct, fraud, regulatory compliance, and workplace concerns. This position involves prioritizing cases, leading investigation strategies, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure adherence to company values and policies. Your work will contribute to a cleaner energy future while maintaining the integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct privileged investigations on concurrent cases such as employee misconduct, fraud, and conflicts of interest while collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Exercise independent judgment on triaging and/or escalating cases to leadership, legal, or other appropriate parties.
  • Draft fair, objective, factual, and comprehensive reports that contain the factual support for any conclusions reached.
  • Provide a comprehensive briefing of the investigation steps and findings to Human Resources and Law when applicable.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, provide accurate and timely briefings to senior management and executive leadership regarding investigation results and proposed corrective actions.
  • Analyze information from multiple investigations to identify trends and patterns, collaborating with Compliance and management to identify potential remedial measures.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating and resolving claims for or against a company.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Law license; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP); Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in Audit Services, Federal or state law enforcement, Claims investigations, Human Resources Employee Representative or Labor Representative, or practicing Attorney in Labor & Employment or Former Prosecutor.
