About the position

ASRC Federal is seeking a seasoned ETL Developer to join our team to support a DEA contract in Arlington, VA. This position involves a hybrid/onsite work arrangement and requires a Public Trust clearance, which necessitates that candidates must be US Citizens. The ETL Developer will play a critical role in formulating and defining system scope and objectives, as well as devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems. This includes considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and the desired results. The developer will be responsible for preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written, and will design, code, test, debug, and document those programs. The role requires a high level of technical competence across all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring that the solutions developed meet the needs of the DEA contract.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and define system scope and objectives.
• Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs.
• Work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of data warehousing techniques and star/snowflake models.
• Experience in DataStage Director and job designs.
• Experience in DataStage parallel and sequential job scheduling for multiple jobs.
• Experience in DataStage job scheduling process with Autosys and DataStage scheduler.
• Experience in DataStage error resolutions.
• Experience using Parallel processing Infrastructure using DataStage.
• Experience in developing DataStage jobs for extract and transformation to load to data warehouse.
• Experience with Join, Lookup, Merge stages.
• Experience using DataStage functionalities like file loading and unstructured data.
• Experience with Oracle databases and building PL/SQL Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and packages.
• Experience in writing Unix/Linux shell scripts.
• Must be a US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust.
• Must be able to pass a government-issued background check.
• Education: BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or equivalent.
• At least four (4) years' experience in the field.
