The ETL Architect position focuses on leveraging Ab Initio to design and implement robust ETL solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of ETL architecture and will be capable of independently providing designs and solutions. This role requires extensive experience with various Ab Initio program components, including Reformat, Rollup, Scan, Join, and Partition techniques. The candidate should also be familiar with parallelism techniques in Ab Initio, utilizing Data and Pipeline Component parallelisms effectively. In addition to Ab Initio expertise, the role demands a working knowledge of the Big Data ecosystem, particularly Hadoop and HDFS commands. The architect will work with heterogeneous datasets, integrating various file types such as Hadoop files, XLS, XML, and COBOL with source systems through secure transfer methods like SFTP and MFTS. Proficiency in SQL/PL SQL and Unix shell scripting is essential, along with familiarity with Ab Initio air commands and the Operation Console. The position also requires a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and strong analytical skills. The candidate should have experience with tools like Plans, Conduct IT, Query IT, and MHUB, and must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities to analyze issues and provide resolutions. Participation in Agile methodologies, including Scrum calls and handovers, is expected, as well as the ability to support an onshore-offshore model. Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS services such as EKS, Athena, and S3, is preferred, especially in relation to integration with Ab Initio. Familiarity with DevOps tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and Ansible, as well as scheduling tools such as Control M, Autosys, and Tivoli, is also beneficial. The candidate should have experience managing migration projects from end to end and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies beyond ETL. Leadership skills are crucial, as the architect will be responsible for managing a team and interacting with end users and clients. Proficiency in creating documentation related to project architecture, end-user manuals, and operations handoff guides is required. A good understanding of quality processes and strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential for success in this role.
