About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Mid-level ETL / Data Developer to join a dedicated team supporting government customers. This role involves designing and implementing data solutions that enhance capabilities and protect national security. The developer will work with various technologies to manage data transformation and visualization, contributing to impactful projects while developing their skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL mappings to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target systems.
• Conduct performance tuning of ETL processes to ensure efficient data handling.
• Create Business Intelligence (BI) reports using BI software and perform unit testing on these reports.
• Participate in all phases of the Development Life Cycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment of BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop documentation to support the development life cycle and ensure best practices are followed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ETL and data development.
• Proficiency in Power BI, data analysis, data query, and data visualization.
• Experience with writing complex SQL statements, scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and business intelligence environments.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Apache NiFi, TIKA, and Airflow.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of .NET, C#, JavaScript, and Java (SpringBoot).
• Experience with Terraform, Splunk, and Oracle/SQL.
