About the position

The Senior ETL Developer at Cognizant is responsible for leading the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions that support business intelligence and analytics needs. This role requires a strong background in ETL processes, data integration, and database performance optimization, particularly using IBM Infosphere DataStage and PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency while mentoring junior team members and staying updated with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of ETL processes to ensure efficient data integration and transformation.
• Provide technical expertise in PL/SQL to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across various data sources and systems.
• Develop and maintain scheduling processes to automate data workflows and ensure timely data availability.
• Utilize IBM Infosphere Datastage to design, develop, and deploy data integration solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data integration processes to ensure smooth operation and resolve any issues promptly.
• Implement best practices for data warehousing and ETL to improve system performance and scalability.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster their professional growth.
• Conduct regular reviews of data architecture and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions that meet their needs.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Data Warehousing Concepts, Scheduling Basics, ETL Data Integration, PL/SQL, and IBM Infosphere Datastage.
• Strong technical skills in designing and implementing data solutions that drive business success.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining ETL processes to ensure efficient data integration.
• Solid understanding of database performance optimization and data integrity.
