About the position

We are seeking an experienced ETL/DataStage Developer for a key role in Plano, TX. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in IBM DataStage (ETL), with the capability to manage and deliver complex requirements to meet critical business objectives. This role involves developing, coding, and unit testing while ensuring that all solutions meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions to meet business and technical requirements, ensuring all solutions are robust, well-tested, and compliant.
  • Write code, configure applications, perform unit testing, and integrate solutions with clear, reliable interfaces.
  • Participate in story refinement and define requirements, helping to guide the team in estimating work for each development lifecycle.
  • Conduct proof of concepts or spikes as needed to mitigate risks or explore new technologies.
  • Code and test solutions to meet defined acceptance criteria and compliance standards.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components across data, applications, and business layers to develop client requirements.
  • Assist the team in solving technical challenges associated with story work.
  • Support integration, regression, and performance test suites; analyze test reports to identify and resolve errors.
  • Prepare and share all necessary deployment, maintenance, and support documentation.
  • Participate in CI/CD events and provide guidance to team members on branching, pull requests, issue triage, conflict resolution, and release notes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of industry experience, with significant focus on IBM DataStage (ETL) 11.7 or higher.
  • Proficient with RDBMS databases, SQL, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with DB2, Oracle, SingleStore, and MySQL.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and proficiency in Python or shell scripting for automation.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys and data transfer tools like NDM.
  • Experience with Bitbucket, CI/CD automation, and deployment processes.
  • Exposure to IBM Cloud Pack, IBM DB2, Oracle, Cockroach DB, and Teradata.
  • Proficiency in Core Java, MQ queues, and experience in ALM for defect management.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodology, including tools like Jira.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Z/OS for mainframe data processing and integration.
  • Expertise in Agile principles and defect management within a collaborative team environment.
