About the position

The Ab Initio Developer at Bright Vision Technologies is responsible for developing and programming IT solutions, focusing on data quality and governance. This role involves documenting system specifications, participating in unit testing, and maintaining both planned and unplanned applications. The developer will work on moderately complex projects and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program IT solutions using Ab Initio and other ETL tools.
• Document detailed system specifications and participate in unit testing.
• Maintain planned and unplanned internally developed applications.
• Evaluate and perform testing on purchased products.
• Implement IT controls to protect application and data integrity.
• Collaborate with vendors and business partners for solution delivery.
• Ensure data quality processes and governance procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related work experience in IT development.
• Direct hands-on experience with Ab Initio, SQL, and Unix Scripting.
• Experience with ETL development tools such as Informatica, Talend, and SSIS.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies relevant to major development languages.
• Experience with major relational database management systems.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and Linux operating systems, preferably RHEL.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RESTful services and JSON.
• Cloud experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of messaging engines.
