About the position

The ETL Developer role at Beacon Hill Technologies focuses on building and optimizing components of the new hire automation process using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The position requires expertise in integrating web services and REST APIs, managing error handling and logging, and understanding database architecture. Additionally, the role involves using PowerShell for Active Directory management within SSIS packages, ensuring a seamless and efficient onboarding process for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SSIS packages to automate and streamline the new hire process.
• Integrate web services and REST APIs into SSIS packages to facilitate data exchange and process automation.
• Implement robust error handling and trapping mechanisms within SSIS packages to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Set up detailed logging to monitor package execution and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Develop an understanding of the existing database architecture to ensure seamless integration and data flow within the SSIS packages.
• Perform DB object creation and maintenance, including writing and executing DDL scripts as needed.
• Utilize PowerShell within SSIS packages to automate changes in Active Directory as part of the new hire process.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to support and enhance automation workflows.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand the automation needs.
• Document SSIS package designs, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure clarity and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Proven experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and developing complex ETL solutions.
• Strong understanding of web services and REST APIs, with hands-on experience integrating these into SSIS packages.
• Proficiency in error handling, trapping, and logging within SSIS.
• Experience with database architecture and DB object creation/maintenance (DDL scripting).
• Practical experience using PowerShell, especially for automation tasks related to Active Directory.
