About the position

The ETL Developer role is a contract position focused on designing, developing, and documenting complex data integration processes. This position is fully remote and requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective data workflows and support for production environments. The developer will be responsible for performance tuning, troubleshooting, and maintaining ETL processes, while adhering to best practices and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document complex processes that consolidate and integrate data.
  • Follow and contribute to best practices for data integration workflows.
  • Analyze requirements to develop ETL solutions.
  • Develop ETL job flows according to company standards for naming and performance.
  • Maintain and extend reusable data integration components as per design from senior developers/architects.
  • Perform development, testing, and implementation of Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Support testing and remediation of defects in ETL workflows.
  • Provide ongoing support in production, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Tune and troubleshoot ETL processes as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architecture team for reporting and analytic data structures.
  • Work with the DBA team to tune and refactor ETL workflows.
  • Augment ERDs as changes are developed with Data Architects.
  • Provide timely project and task updates to all concerned parties.
  • Monitor production data integration jobs and correct failures in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in data integration and/or data warehousing.
  • Significant experience using enterprise ETL tools, preferably SAP Data Services.
  • Strong command of SQL, ANSI SQL, and PL/SQL for ETL relating to data warehousing and integration.
  • Proven track record of developing well-structured, maintainable ETL solutions.
  • Experience querying and loading dimensional and relational data models in a data warehouse environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively solve problems in a timely manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle 12c or newer, or other enterprise databases such as SQL Server.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a technical level verbally and in writing.
