About the position

The ETL Developer at the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) plays a crucial role in designing and developing ETL code to support data-driven health care interventions. This position involves working with various database technologies and scripting languages to create and maintain ETL systems that ensure data integrity and quality. The developer will collaborate with team members to understand data structures and retrieval methods, contributing to evidence-based decision-making in health policy.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL processes for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources.
• Develop and maintain ETL systems using IBM DataStage and Qlik Talend.
• Create and manage database tables using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with team members to understand source system structures and data retrieval techniques.
• Support the development of data transformation logic using SQL, Bash, and Python.
• Clean, validate, and transform data to meet target schema and quality standards.
• Execute data quality improvement plans and participate in troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Experience in ETL development, particularly in a health data organization.
• Proficiency with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or Qlik Talend.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows systems.
• Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.
• Proficient in SQL and Bash scripting languages.
• Knowledge of SDLC models and HIPAA policies.
