About the position

The position involves leading moderately complex projects that require a diverse array of programming expertise. The primary responsibilities include application analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, and support of complex issues. The role requires performing installation, functional and performance testing, maintenance, and modification of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ETL software. The candidate will demonstrate project management skills and may serve as a technical lead on IT projects. Participation in planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments in process, people, services, and infrastructure is essential. The individual will work closely with the Technical Review Board and Enterprise Architects to ensure that all systems align with the long-term IT strategy. Identifying system requirements, developing application specifications, and creating conversion and migration designs are key tasks. Establishing a liaison relationship with business partners and/or suppliers to provide technical solutions through the analysis of business workflows and an understanding of business needs is crucial. The candidate will manage multiple priorities of projects and requests while adhering to quality standards and procedures. Additionally, the role involves reviewing modules for quality assurance and validating compliance with application architecture standards. Conducting unit testing of application modules to ensure compliance with specifications, documenting changes to system and application architecture diagrams, and integration and conversion plans are also part of the job. The candidate will assist in the development of reports and presentations for senior management and provide Tier III support for ETL applications, including a weekly on-call rotation. Providing technical guidance, business process expertise, and technical leadership to team members is expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Two or more years of direct work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, certification, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree or certification.
  • US Citizenship, capable of obtaining and maintaining a US Dept of Energy 'Q' level security clearance.
  • Minimum 2 years of SQL experience with the ability to develop, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing with data integration tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, SSIS, Qlik Data Integration).
  • Experience with multi-dimensional data modeling for a data warehouse and data marts.
  • Knowledge of a scripting language (Linux, Shell, Windows Batch, Python, or VBS).
  • Experience working in a Red Hat Enterprise, Linux and/or Windows environment.
