About the position

As a senior ETL developer at Cedent in Charlotte, NC, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting our organization's data warehouse. This position reports directly to the director of business intelligence and involves a variety of responsibilities that are crucial for the success of our data management initiatives. You will be tasked with assisting in data analysis, constructing technical designs, and developing ETL applications. Effective communication with team members and business stakeholders is essential, as you will also be responsible for supporting existing ETL applications. In this role, you will lead and coordinate the work activities of the ETL team, serving as the primary architect for the data warehouse. Collaboration with BI front-end developers is key to understanding the organizational data needs, and you will work closely with the reporting team to create and maintain standards for data quality and database performance. Additionally, you will collaborate with IT to design the optimal hardware infrastructure that supports current needs while planning for future scalability. Your responsibilities will include tackling the most challenging and complex ETL projects, providing thought leadership, and evolving technology standards, processes, and procedures in the area of ETL and data architecture. You will oversee the development of the ETL team, design and support ETL solutions, assist with planning and resourcing of ETL projects, and manage warehouse support activities while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Establishing and maintaining data quality standards for the data warehouse will also be a critical part of your role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of IT experience.
  • 3+ years of ETL application development experience.
  • 3+ years of ETL design experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with MS SSIS.
  • 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server database.
  • 3+ years of data modeling experience.
  • 5+ years of SQL querying experience.
  • Strong ETL design skills.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling techniques.
  • Significant experience with development and support of mission-critical BI/data warehouse applications.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills.
