About the position

The ETL Engineer/DBA (SQL) position at CGI involves designing and developing ETL processes, managing Azure SQL Server databases, and ensuring data integrity during migrations. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to migrate legacy data into modern solutions.
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize the performance of Azure SQL Server databases, including index optimization and query tuning.
  • Implement error handling and SSIS best practices to ensure efficient and reliable data migrations.
  • Develop and implement post-conversion validation processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness after migration.
  • Monitor ETL performance, diagnose issues, and implement performance tuning solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Leverage Azure Boards for tracking and managing ETL development tasks and project timelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an ETL Engineer/DBA with expertise in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Strong experience in administering and optimizing Azure SQL Server databases, including performance tuning and security management.
  • In-depth knowledge of data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting for complex queries and reporting.
  • Experience with ETL error handling, SSIS logging, and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with the Azure Microsoft Database stack, including Azure Data Factory.
