About the position

The ETL Java Developer SME will provide Agile DevOps support to mission-critical systems, focusing on the design, development, implementation, and testing of tools and applications for Extracting, Transforming, and Loading (ETL) data into an enterprise Data Lake. This role involves building robust systems and cloud environments while ensuring operations and maintenance of critical systems. The candidate will work within a DevOps framework, participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle and developing custom code/scripts for efficient data management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a large-scale ingest system in a big data environment.
• Analyze enterprise data needs and design optimal ELT processes.
• Recommend methodologies for optimizing data visualization, organization, storage, and availability.
• Participate in software programming initiatives using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, SpringBoot, and Hibernate.
• Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
• Integrate custom software solutions with automated deployment technologies.
• Prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions using Infrastructure platform services.
• Analyze infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs.
• Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
• Use DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting.
• Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across environments using GitFlow constructs.
• Leverage Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence for activity tracking.
• Identify and apply best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters for User Story alignment.
• Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion.
• Hold meetings with PMO and enterprise stakeholders.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience performing ETL activities including parser development, data flow management, and troubleshooting data access issues.
• Experience with data modeling.
• Extensive experience with relational databases such as MySQL and SQL queries.
• Extensive experience using Java for data processing, manipulation, or querying (SQL or NoSQL).
• ETL/Data Integration experience using Spring, NiFi, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience leveraging cloud data services (S3, RDS, EFS).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience leading development scrum teams.
• Master's degree with 15 or more years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI with a polygraph.
