About the position

The ETL SQL Developer will join the Technology Enablement team at VHB, focusing on creating innovative software solutions that address complex challenges in various markets, including Transportation, Energy, and Real Estate. This hybrid role involves working within an Agile Scrum team to develop and apply advanced methods for software development, impacting areas such as road safety and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, conducts, and develops solutions to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Design and manage database schemas and optimize performance.
  • Document ETL processes, database schemas, data mappings, and transformations.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows and mappings.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies, writes, edits, and implements complex software applications.
  • Proposes and implements standard software solutions.
  • Develops, designs, and edits original applications, or modifies third-party applications.
  • Serves as a technical leader for moderately complex software projects.
  • Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience required, 5+ years preferred.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server Management Studio and TSQL scripting.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in C# and .Net Core with Entity Framework.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Jira.
  • Experience with Agile Development practices and Git.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with relational database management systems, particularly MS SQL Server.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
