About the position

The ETL SSIS Developer at Virtusa is responsible for designing and developing data integration solutions using Microsoft tools, particularly SSIS and MS SQL Server. This role requires a strong understanding of ETL concepts and experience in data warehouse projects, with a focus on performance tuning and query optimization. The developer will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL processes using SSIS and MS SQL Server.
• Work on data warehouse projects, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Implement programming best practices for scalability, automation, and optimization.
• Optimize queries and perform performance tuning on SQL Server databases.
• Collaborate with team members in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in design and development using SSIS and MS SQL Server (preferably 2016 or above).
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, including functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Experience with query optimization and performance tuning techniques.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts and implementation.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Good problem analytics mindset and ability to resolve issues promptly.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and Hadoop-Hive.
• Experience with Spark.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Bitbucket.
