About the position

The position involves researching, evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining system and product solutions while applying engineering principles. The role requires providing technical direction and engineering support for various projects and infrastructure. A key focus is on developing and maintaining expert functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies, competition, concepts, and trends, particularly in the realm of Cloud Engineering. This includes the delivery of computing services and associated duties such as designing, planning, administering, developing, or maintaining applications in cloud-based environments. The responsibilities encompass full life-cycle project management, establishing and leading project teams, and developing comprehensive project plans that include scope, schedule, cost, and communication strategies. The role also involves procuring and managing resources, timelines, deadlines, and quality, as well as risk, issue, and change management to ensure successful project implementation. The position has a broad scope of responsibility, requiring the individual to lead, guide, and mentor less experienced staff while providing input and making budgetary recommendations regarding staffing and equipment. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to design and enhance new and existing systems, document new system components or modifications, and ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions in compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering, and Information Security principles and practices. Additional tasks include performing engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems, providing technical leadership in architecture discipline, and presenting clear, organized, and concise information to facilitate effective business decisions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cloud and Cloud native development initiatives
  • Significant experience in leading, guiding and coaching professional staff
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering discipline
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Expert database and presentation software skills
  • Expert research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related degree
  • 5+ years of business domain experience in Collections and/or Credit Card servicing, and delivery
  • 3 + years of MS Dynamics experience
  • Experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools
  • Experience with security standards such as TLS, SSL, and data encryption
  • Advanced knowledge of financial/banking industry standards, regulations, and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal systems, products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
