About the position

The Enterprise Architect will provide comprehensive leadership in supporting various domains such as Fraud & Security, Consumer & Business Lending, Real Estate Servicing, and Credit Cards. The role focuses on improving operational and technology experiences, utilizing industry standards and frameworks, and guiding cloud adoption and transformation journeys. The candidate will lead architecture design sessions, document current and target-state architectures, and make recommendations based on best practices to align with Navy Federal's business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust and secure target architectures ensuring integration points of end-user technology services are consistent, scalable, and flexible.
• Develop architectural documentation and artifacts for business and technology projects, knowledge transfer, decision support, and product evaluation.
• Lead technology vendor evaluation processes including RFI and RFP activities, leading to vendor product selection.
• Create and maintain product portfolio architecture views by gathering information from stakeholders regarding strategic planning and business roadmaps.
• Provide guidance and support to business and IT stakeholders to accomplish strategic visions.
• Develop and apply architectural reference patterns to guide the selection and implementation of information technology.
• Enforce enterprise architecture standards and facilitate architectural governance based on business and IT strategies.
• Collaborate on architecture reviews to assess the integrity and quality of proposed technical solutions.
• Identify and provide recommendations for the acceptance or mitigation of issues and risks associated with architectural designs and implementation plans.
• Provide forward-thinking technical expertise and thought leadership in current and emerging technologies and best practices.
• Anticipate and plan for internal and external business challenges, recommending process or service enhancements.
• Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders, and external contacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience architecting and delivering solutions across multiple enterprise architecture domains.
• Demonstrated architectural experience in designing enterprise-wide infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with cloud computing and transitioning on-premise solutions to the cloud.
• Experience standardizing processes, documentation, and leading architecture services.
• Experience in systems design and architecture for large-scale platforms driving modernization strategies.
• Cloud Computing experience with service providers like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience translating business needs into clear architecture designs and artifacts.
• Experience facilitating review and validation of architecture designs by diverse audiences.
• Experience interpreting architecture designs into IT solutions and roadmaps.

Nice-to-haves

• Digital transformation experience focusing on platform redesign and workflow automation.
• Familiarity with security architecture best practices in application designs.
• Microsoft Azure and/or AWS Solution Architect certification(s).
• Relevant Business and IT Architecture Certifications such as TOGAF, SAFE, COBIT, ITIL.
• Experience with The Open Group Architecture (TOGAF) 9.x or relevant architecture framework.
• Familiarity with EA tools like Sparx Systems Architect, Orbus Infinity, LeanIX.
• Experience with Agile, SCRUM, DevOps programs.
• Familiarity with banking and financial industry standards and practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory mandates such as CCPA and GDPR.
