About the position

We are currently recruiting for art teachers for students in grades K-2 for weekday afternoons and weekends in our Evanston, IL school location to start work in January 2025. Our classes typically start at 3:30pm so it is a great opportunity for public and private school art teachers and current art students in graduate programs to earn extra money doing what they love. Our curriculum is created centrally so there is minimal prep required and all tools, equipment and supplies are provided.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more of a variety of proprietary classes including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed media, Cartooning, Manga, Design, Street Art, and more.
• Deliver compelling, engaging, and fun student-centric experiences in the classroom.
• Prepare for classes and be a team player open to ideas and feedback.
• Focus on student development and inclusion.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience teaching studio art
• BFA or BS in Art Education
• Thoughtful communication skills
• A passion for One River School's mission
• Must live within easy commutable distance from Evanston
