About the position

The Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion High Pressure Turbine Airfoil Lead Design Engineer at GE Aerospace is responsible for the design and analysis of turbine airfoils for F110 sustaining and NPI programs. This role involves mentoring early career professionals and executing design and analysis projects while adhering to engineering principles and business standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, analysis, producibility, and qualification of sustaining and NPI HPT airfoil components.
  • Mentor early career professionals in the turbine airfoil design discipline.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and use prior experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Understand key business drivers and how the work integrates with other teams.
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters with guidance and solve straightforward tasks using technical skills and analytic thinking.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical design engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in design engineering.
  • Relevant design and/or manufacturing experience of turbine airfoil hardware.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS and NX Unigraphics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
