About the position

The Evening Custodian at Cox Automotive is responsible for performing a variety of custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and order in the facility. This role is essential for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and customers. The position requires working independently during evening shifts and involves physical tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Vacuuming
• Washing and sanitizing bathroom fixtures with germicidal cleaners and restocking restrooms
• Cleaning mirrors and windows
• Watering plants (interior and exterior) and cleaning exterior surfaces
• Performing minor repairs
• Learning and adhering to all applicable health and safety regulations and policies
• Assisting with special projects as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Generally less than 2 years' experience in a related field
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
• Ability to work independently
• Effective communication and interaction with staff, management, and customers
• Ability to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb
• Medium strength with the ability to lift 1-50 pounds
• Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Nice-to-haves

• Skill and knowledge to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs
