About the position

The Night Client Service Representative at VCA Bakersfield Animal Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the veterinary practice. This position is responsible for greeting clients, managing appointments, and providing information about services and products, all while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
  • Answering telephones and managing customer service functions.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments for clients.
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
  • Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
  • Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
  • Answering questions regarding products and services, educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care.
  • Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ensuring hospital maintenance, including removal of animal waste and keeping the facility neat and clean.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year veterinary experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and a personable demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting.
  • Knowledge of animal husbandry and non-medical pet care.
