About the position

The Evening Nurse Supervisor at Paradigm Healthcare at Westbury is responsible for overseeing nursing care in a skilled nursing facility during evening shifts. This role involves direct patient care, planning and implementing care plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The supervisor will also coordinate nursing services and provide education to residents and their families, all while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment for both staff and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act, federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of a resident's plan of care in accordance with current physician's orders.
  • Utilize established methods for coordination and communication of nursing services with other resident services.
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary.
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner in compliance with facility policies.
  • Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempts to access the facility's information system.
  • Participate in developing, evaluating, revising, and implementing a plan of care for each resident.
  • Provide education to residents/families/caregivers when the need arises.
  • Provide prompt emergency support measures, including CPR, in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
  • Ensure that nursing interventions are performed in a timely manner and provide explanations for any delays.
  • Develop daily work assignments and unit assignments.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State.
  • An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • 2 years experience in Long-Term Care experience preferred.
  • Six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred.
  • Strong utilization knowledge of Point Click Care preferred.
  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet).
